The East Texas Pump Jacks were born at a news conference on January 16, 2008, beginning a new era of baseball in East Texas. As a new member of the Texas Collegiate League, the Jacks promised to deliver some of the top college baseball talent from around the country to local fans as part of an entertaining and affordable night at the ballpark. With the arrival of the Pump Jacks, the fun and excitement of minor league baseball returned to East Texas.
